Which booking panel hardware Offision supports

Every certified room and desk panel, model by model — screen size, PoE, Wi-Fi and card reader from the vendor, and what Offision itself drives on each one: the light bar, how a card is read, and the remote reboot.

Offision does not make hardware. It certifies it: the panels below are the ones tested against every release, each with its own installation guideline in the connect wizard, and each buyable from the partner rather than from Offision. A panel that is not on this list is not blocked — it runs the browser player like any other screen — it is simply not one Offision tests.

Room panels

The panel by the door. Every one of these is powered over its network cable, so the practical question at install time is whether the switch port can supply PoE+ rather than whether there is a socket in the wall.

Desk panels

The small panel at the desk itself. Power is where these differ from each other: the Crestron takes PoE like a room panel, while the Qbic models run off USB from the desk — usually from the dock or the socket the desk already has, which is what makes them cheap to add to a desk that is already wired.

The Qbic TDD-1000 is a dock as well as a panel: the same USB-C cable that powers it charges the laptop plugged into it, which is why it appears at hot desks where the point is that people bring their own machine.

Tablets and other devices

Under Certified devices in the connect wizard sits Other devices. A tablet runs the same panel as certified hardware and books the same rooms; what it does not have is the hardware around the screen.

No PoE. A tablet needs a power socket at the mount. That is usually what decides whether a tablet is actually cheaper than a panel, because the socket is the expensive part of the install.

No light bar. The room’s status is carried by the screen alone, so it cannot be read from the end of a corridor.

An Android tablet reads cards; an iPad does not. With the Offision app on an Android tablet that has NFC hardware, a card is tapped on the tablet’s own face — the reader is Android’s, not the panel vendor’s. iPadOS has no card-reading path, so an iPad needs a USB reader like everything else. HID Global cards still decode on IAdea panels only, whatever the tablet.

What Offision drives on each one

The table above is the hardware. This one is the software: what the panel has, and what Offision actually does with it. The two are not the same question — a Crestron panel has no light bar in the box, and a Qbic panel’s built-in card reader only reads a card when the panel is running the Offision Android app rather than showing the panel in a browser.

A Neat Pad is the only panel that opens its own device settings from the Offision console. Everywhere else, brightness and the network are the vendor’s own settings screen.

The two rows Qbic and IAdea each get above are one panel set up two ways, and the card reader is not the only thing that changes between them — uploaded video and the label printer go the same way. What that choice costs, per brand, is in Qbic: app or browser and IAdea: app or browser.

What the columns mean

PoE is how nearly every room panel is powered, and PoE+ is not PoE: a switch port that only meets 802.3af will bring up a Neat Pad and a Crestron TSS-470E but not a Qbic TD-1070, which asks for 25 W. Check the port budget on the switch, not just the standard printed on it.

Card reader splits two ways. Built in means the radio is in the panel’s own face and a card is tapped on the panel — bottom centre on a TD-1050, bottom right on a TD-1070, bottom centre on a WRP-1000. USB reader means a separate reader is plugged in, behaves as a keyboard, and is where people tap instead. Both end up in the same place; see Check in by tapping a staff card.

HID Global cards carry a facility code as well as a serial, and the two vendors differ on what comes back. An IAdea panel decodes the facility code and card number. Every other panel — a Qbic H model included — reads the card’s serial number instead, which is not the number printed on it. Enrol one card and tap it before you import the rest.

Light bar is what Offision drives, not merely what the hardware has. Seven colours means the panel reproduces the whole palette. Accessory means the panel has no bar of its own and takes a Crestron light bar or hallway sign over USB. A Cisco Room Navigator shows yellow where the palette says orange and blue where it says cyan; a Neat Pad has one custom colour for everything that is neither green nor red. What this does not control

  • Certification is not a licence. Connecting any panel needs Hardware, whatever the brand.
  • The brand you pick in the wizard does not change what the panel can do. It decides which installation guideline you are shown; the capabilities are the hardware’s, and they are the table above.
  • A panel not on this list still works. It runs the browser player, with no light bar and no built-in card reader — the same profile as a tablet in a browser.
  • E-paper room and desk displays are not booking panels and are not covered here. They run no player, take no touch and are driven as their own system.
