The Event information widget

One event at a time, full stage — banner or poster layout, how long each holds the screen, and which details print beneath it.

One event, given the whole stage — its artwork, its time, its venue — then the next. Where the Event list is the programme, this is the poster wall, drawn from the events published in Events.

Settings

Setting	What it does	When to change it
Design	The stage layout: Banner or Poster	Banner spreads the artwork wide with the details beside it; Poster leads with the upright artwork itself
Resources	Which venues’ events take the stage: Follow device location, All resources, By building, By floor or Specific resources, with a matching picker	The screen at a hall’s door should only announce that hall
Type	Narrows the venues by resource type; empty means Any resource type	Only events held in rooms, say
Days ahead	How many days ahead an event may be and still take a turn	Shorten it so the stage stays about what is imminent
Seconds per event	How long each event holds the screen before the next	Longer where the description is worth reading out
Show description	The event’s description text	Off when the artwork already says it
Show venue	Where the event happens	Off when the screen stands at the venue itself
Show organizer	Who runs the event	On when the host’s name is part of the draw

What this does not control

Which events exist. The stage shows the events published in Events — their artwork, times and descriptions are written there.
When it interrupts. Bursting in minutes before an event begins is the Event starting soon takeover’s job — see Takeovers.
Its size and colour. Font size, appearance and widget background come from the whole design — see Widgets and the places they go.
