What is an e-paper room or desk display—and how is it different from a tablet or LCD panel?

E-paper uses reflective electronic ink to show room or desk status—readable in bright light without a backlight. Unlike tablets or glass LCDs, it uses almost no power between refreshes, stays lightweight, and often mounts cable-free on a long-life battery.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the model and how often the screen refreshes, but many labels can run up to about one year for typical daily meeting-room or desk updates.

How does the e-paper device connect to Offision?

Updates go over the air through a gateway on your network. Offision pushes schedule and status changes to the gateway, which reaches each label—so you don't need power and data at every door.

Can e-paper labels be installed without drilling or wiring each room?

Yes. Many room and desk displays mount with adhesive or similar options without drilling, and without running cables to every unit—only the gateway needs power and internet.

How many e-paper devices can one gateway cover?

In typical office layouts one gateway can support many labels—for example, up to about 50 e-paper devices, within roughly a 25 meter radius (subject to walls and interference).
