How equipment check-in works

If the policy requires check-in, an uncollected cart becomes a no-show and can release after the grace period. Facilities then see whether the kit was used — not only whether it was reserved.

Can unused equipment release if nobody checks in?

Yes, when check-in is on. After the grace period the kit can return to the pool, the same way an empty room does.
